Warmth

Since Erik & I are staying at a resort reserved by his parents, I hadn't really seen pictures or knew where exactly we are staying in Mexico, I just knew it was near Playa del Carmen. I had to zap off an email today to reserve an airport shuttle, so I finally heard the name of our resort and looked it up. I cannot tell you how beautiful it looks--the waters are blue, the sky is blue and the sun is shining. The website for the resort isn't great, but this one I found for the general area is breathtaking. I inhaled sharply when I saw the posted temperature...."Mostly Sunny 81F"!! That warm air is gonna be such a blessing! Now I am really excited and I suppose it helps that I got a new suit (or two!one of which I'll send back once I pick my favorite) in the mail today that I ordered from Land's End! :-)

I'm really looking forward to the vacation and time with Erik one on one. It will be a really nice break. I also love Mexico--the food rocks, the beer is always cold, the ocean is awesome, the people are super friendly and accommodating and the history is really cool. I hope we can make it to Tulum this time, that is one ruin we haven't seen yet.

I have started my pile of books to read--I always read at least one on the flight there and then another on the flight back and when its a tropical vacation w/o kids, I tend to read on the beach too. :-) I just gotta get the girls' schedule written down for my folks, buy some new sunscreen (a necessity for a fair skinned gal like myself) and make sure my camera memory is clear and ready to be filled. Oh I better get my hands on a few more batteries for it too and for my mp3...Its a good thing I'm thinking about this now, I always end up with a list of things to do in order to get ready to leave on a trip. I also have a huge pile of paperwork/bills to take care of in the next week, too which kind of stress me out, so hopefully I can get it all finished by next Friday! We have to drive over to Spokane to fly out early Saturday morning so I'll be praying the weather holds and the pass is clear. That also means we'll have a yummy dinner in Spokane Friday night! (Hey Jess....what are you doing Friday night???)

Alright, Lindsay is turning into a raisin in the bath so I'd better go get her out and get dinner rolling so we can make it to church tonight. If I don't post again in the next week, you'll know why!! :-)

  1. Are we talking this Friday as in 1/9? We don't have plans - I'll be off work by 5:30. Weather is supposed to be warmish for the rest of the week so roads should be clear. We'd love to see you! E-mail me...

  2. Nevermind, I just reread your post. 1/16 looks fine and I'll pencil you in. Let me know when you're expecting to get into town and where you want to go to dinner!
